Twig – The Faerie’s Secret
Twig
The Faerie’s Secret
16”X20” Mixed medium
Twig Oaklyn Flewinia Thistlebottom…
Whew! That’s quite a name. Fortunately her friends know her simply as Twig, the fun, whimsical, magical faerie that graces the renaissance festivals. The young at heart, who are fortunate enough to meet her, often find themselves sprinkled with faerie dust and presented with a magical gem! But be aware, if you ask what the secret is in her hands, she will only answer with her flute. I hope you are fluent in double piped aulos.
I have had quite few inquiries on the technique and mediums I used on this art. It’s a mixed medium piece and I used quite a variety here. Silver point, graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, gauche, even a little airbrush. Originally I had planned to show what was in her cupped hands. However as I worked on the piece I decided to leave that mystery up to the imagination of the viewer.
You the viewer, with your own imagination, will add the finishing touch to the art
Faeries, hidden in Twig’s hair are looking down at the wonder held in her hands. I worked from photos I shot of Twig at the Renaissance festival. Twig was very kind to permit me to make limited edition prints of the art.

Beautiful rendition! I met Twig twice now. I LOVE her character! I also heard that if she does speak the are turns blue. But that too is part of her charm. Love the picture and say you really captured her in all senses of the meaning.
